St. Mary’s Carmelite Church was finished in 1882, at 113 N. Ottawa St, on historic route 66 in Joliet, IL. It was constructed out of Joliet limestone.

By 1939 it was described as “having a larger membership than any other church in the city.”

St. Mary’s closed in 1992 because of low attendance.

The building has been vacant since that time.
